Contemporary artist Maria Buglak

Maria Buglak is a contemporary sculptor and mosaic artist from Russia, whose work is a unique combination of ideas and materials.

In my work, I explore the nature of human feelings and emotions that are in continuous motion, flow. This constant change is contrasted with the desire for emotional balance and stability of the inner world. The combination of dynamic sculptural forms and monumental mosaics creates a unique harmony between movement and static.

The EMORPHA project represents this philosophy of art, where each work is a unique reflection of the desire for balance and moments of peace in an endlessly changing world of emotions. I use smalt, glass, gold, natural stone and metal in my work. Each sculpture is unique. The use of natural gold in glass adds symbolism to the works, reflecting the movement of solar heat and light, as well as the eternity and monumentality of gold as a material.”

Among the best and well-known works of the artist, one can single out the project “Emorpha”, inspired by the dynamics of a modern metropolis. The project, which arose under the influence of the urban environment of Moscow, is an example of the fusion of monumental forms and emotional landscape. The idea of eternity and the versatility of time is embedded in every detail of the artwork, which makes it attractive for analysis and interpretation. The artist’s works are an exploration of the relationship between space, time and human perception.

Maria not only creates works using mosaics, she makes mosaic art modern by introducing new dimensions and perspectives into it. Mosaic art in the 21st century is experiencing a kind of renaissance. Modern artists are actively experimenting with this technique, giving it new forms and meanings. Mosaic becomes not just a decorative element, but also a powerful tool for expressing ideas and emotions. Today’s mosaic works are distinguished by a variety of materials: from traditional smalt, natural stone, glass and gold to synthetic polymer materials, metal, wood, fabric and other materials. This allows artists to create works with more complex textures and shades. Maria Buglak’s works go beyond traditional ideas about mosaics, opening up new horizons for him. Each of her works becomes a vivid example of how mosaic can be used to express concepts, giving this ancient art a new and exciting meaning.
