Time is an invisible river that flows through the world, leaving traces and evidence behind, but not changing its course. In this boundless stream, human and natural artifacts become peculiar shells, containing secrets and stories captured in their form. These artifacts are not just remnants of the past, but also keys to understanding how the external influences the internal, and vice versa. Their immutability is an illusion, and their forms, seemingly frozen in eternity, are actually living evidence of the ramified processes of evolution and change. They intriguingly contrast their apparent immobility with the dynamics of time, raising questions about how their essences are changing and how exactly they reflect changes in the world around them. How does the shell of a living organism lead to an awareness of its inner essence? In this shifting dance of form and content, what is the connection between what we see and what exists beneath the surface? The shell is not just a protective layer, it is an expression of the essence, enclosed in a shape, expressed in its texture, color, where every curve of the surface speaks of the events that enriched its history.
The shell influences the perception of the essence, forms our understanding of its nature. In this relationship, time turns out to be not just a background, but an actor on stage, forever changing meanings and meanings, forcing us to ask questions over and over again about what it means to be alive.
The exhibition invites you to immerse yourself in reflections on eternal questions and discover new facets of the interaction of time and matter, external and internal, unchanging and changeable.

Maria Buglak is a contemporary artist who combines mosaic and sculpture.
“I integrate ancient mosaic techniques into the context of modern art. A mosaic consisting of many small pieces is itself a metaphor for time. Each fragment, regardless of its size and shape, makes its own unique contribution to the overall picture. Put together, they create an integral piece, where each element recalls the multiplicity of events and encounters that shaped our reality.
In the process of creating mosaics, I feel like not just an artist, but an archivist. As I make each new hand movement through the material, I see how many of these small details together form something more than the sum of their parts. Like time, the mosaic illustrates how every choice and every action matters in the context of the whole.”
