Video of mosaic preparation for installation
- video of the creation of the mosaic “Sakura branch”
In this video of the mosaic, you can see how to prepare the panel for installation. We have been collecting a mosaic painting with an area of 4.15 m2 in our studio for about 2 months. The panels were assembled using the technique of artistic splitting from 2×2 cm glass mosaic tiles by Rose and Trend companies. There are a lot of small details in this work, so the work took a lot of time. The mosaic is assembled on an Oracal adhesive transparent film, which we put on top of the sketch. If the panel is assembled face up, as in this case, we need to glue it face to the film, then mount it on the wall with the reverse side. That’s what I’m showing in the video.
Then we cut the mosaic into fragments of about 50×50 cm, number them according to the scheme, peel off the film from the inside, stack it, pack it and take it to the object for further installation on the wall. I’ll show you this process in the next video.
So, let’s summarize:
- We assemble the mosaic on the film face up to see the nuances of color and glass chips.
- We glue the panel onto another film, but with the front side to the film.
- We cut the panel with a knife into pieces of 50×50 cm or so, depending on how the drawing goes.
- We number the fragments according to the scheme, pack them and take them to the installation site.
- The wall mounting itself – watch the following video.
